2024 budget is about victory and hope for the people

The vice president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced before the plenary session of the National Assembly (AN), in an ordinary session, that “for the first time we included in the budget the integral defense of Guayana Esequiba, in execution of the mandates of the People“.

As is known, the National Legislative Branch repudiates the insolent interference of the United States Department of State, the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the transnational Exxon Mobil oil company in flagrant aggression and disregard of the sacred rights of Venezuela over the disputed territory.

Rodríguez stressed: “In 2024 we must take care of sovereignty, our historical heritage and Guayana Esequiba, which sooner rather than later will be recovered”, just as she insisted that “we must defend the territory from illegitimate sanctions and build a new development model above the criminal blockade. We must defend peace.”

The recent events, the result of the Consultative Referendum on the defense of Guayana Esequiba, corroborate that Venezuela is clear, that the arbitration award is invalid and illegal, because it does not comply with due process, it is incongruent, and it is evident that it is a procedural fraud against the Venezuelan nation on behalf of the United States and the United Kingdom.

It should be noted that the Bolivarian Government is ruled by what was agreed in the Geneva Agreement (1966), which is the only document to resolve the controversy between Venezuela and Guyana.

The destination of the money that will be available in the budget for the defense of the Essequibo territory is aimed at strengthening the region from a social, economic, educational and military point of view.

Finally, the Executive Vice President of the Republic explained that “after the attacks, the Bolivarian Government assumed the path to recovery, in a spirit forged in sacrifice, but also seeking the construction of a model that would not make us dependent on oil income, because that was precisely where the enemy wielded his worst weapons to cut off the income of our country.”
