Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago evaluate energy cooperation projects

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, met this Tuesday with the Minister for Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago, Stuart Richard Young, in order to evaluate joint projects and strengthen energy cooperation between both nations.

During the bilateral meeting, was evaluated the progress of gaseous hydrocarbon projects, especially the project being carried out by both nations in the Dragon Field, located in Venezuelan waters, where gas will be produced for the benefit of both peoples and the entire Caribbean, a project that strengthens cooperation for the security and energy sovereignty of the region.

Likewise, Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago reaffirmed in this meeting the will to continue consolidating relations of respect, based on complementarity, cooperation, solidarity and exercised sovereignty, shared as a message of peace for the Caribbean and the world; a gesture of good neighborliness and brotherhood.

Venezuela occupies the fourth largest reserves in the world, an energy wealth that gives it an important position in the international market, projects developed between both nations. In addition to oil and gas, it also covers health, safety and the environment.

The president of the national gas company of Trinidad and Tobago, Mark Loquan, and ambassador accredited to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Edmund Dillon, also participated in the meeting held at the Vice Presidency of the Republic, and for Venezuela also participated the Minister of People’s Power for Oil, Pedro de Tellechea.
