The sectoral vice president for Communication, Tourism and Culture, Jorge Rodríguez, showed new elements about the terrorist actions of an armed group that assaulted a border military unit in southern Venezuela.
From Miraflores Palace in Caracas, Rodríguez reported that “these criminals were trained in fully identified paramilitary camps in Colombia and received the devious collaboration of the Jair Bolsonaro government”.
He explained that the individuals stole 120 rifles and 9 RPG rockets to continue acting in all types of terrorist actions in the national territory, in addition to creating a false positive that would serve as a cause of war for the United States Government.
The sectoral vice president said that the “intention was to use them to shoot down a military aircraft of the Colombian Armed Forces and then say that RPG rockets from the Venezuelan Navy had been used. A false positive for the US to militarily intervene in Venezuela”.
He explained that these terrorist actions are related to those repelled last December 15 and which were aimed at attacking the military units of Táchira, Zulia, Barinas, Aragua, Sucre and Bolívar states.
Rodríguez said that these actions were planned by ultra-right wing militants Leopoldo López and Juan Guaidó, in complicity with the alternate deputies of the Voluntad Popular party, Fernando Orozco and Yanet Fermín, Ismael León, Gilber Caro, activist Vilca Fernández, with the support of municipal and state police and Venezuelan military who defected on February 23.
In addition, he denounced that this action also had the support of the Governments of Peru, Brazil, Ecuador and Colombia, since testimonies ratified that they lent their territory to hold meetings and plan the attack. “Fortunately we have completely dismantled these criminal actions”, he concluded.
