Transnational Exxon Mobil would be financing divisionist campaign facing DEC-3

The Exxon Mobil oil transnational company would be behind the financing of the divisionist campaign ahead of the consultative referendum on the Essequibo territory, scheduled for next December 3.

The denounce was made this Monday by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during the broadcast of his weekly program from Miraflores Palace, in Caracas:

Exxon Mobil is giving out a lot of money to buy people within Venezuela (in order) to divide and confuse Venezuelans,” said the President, showing a flyer “With biased content that, (it) is paid by whom? The Exxon Mobil dollars.”

President Maduro affirmed that in the face of Exxon Mobil’s attempts to illegally obtain the wealth of Essequibo, the Venezuelan people will unite and give a forceful response, on December 3, in defense of its historical rights.

Active campaign:

The slogan that unites us is “Venezuela Toda” (The Whole Venezuela), highlighted the Dignitary, inviting the deployment of all the forces and sectors of the country, regardless of their political tendency, because “it is time for national unity.”

The National Electoral Council (CNE) has called for a consultative referendum on the Essequibo territory to be held on December 3, for which it has asked five questions:

– Do you agree to reject by all means, in accordance with the law, the line fraudulently imposed by the Paris arbitration award of 1899, which seeks to deprive us of our Guayana Esequiba?

– Do you support the 1966 Geneva Agreement as the only valid legal instrument to reach a practical and satisfactory solution for Venezuela and Guyana regarding the controversy over the territory of Guayana Esequiba?

– Do you agree with Venezuela’s historical position of not recognizing the Jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice to resolve the territorial controversy over Guayana Esequiba?

– Do you agree to oppose, by all legal means, Guyana’s claim to unilaterally dispose of a sea pending delimitation, illegally and in violation of international law?

– Do you agree with the creation of the Guayana Esequiba state and the development of an accelerated plan for the integral care for the current and future population of that territory that includes, among others, the granting of Venezuelan citizenship and identity card, in accordance with the Geneva Agreement and International Law, consequently incorporating said state on the map of Venezuelan territory?

Finally, President Maduro reiterated the need to take the message to every corner of the country, to know our history and in this way go out massively, with conscience, to vote this December 3.
