People of Venezuela defend historical legacy with dignity and courage

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted in his account on the X social network, the resilience and resistance of the Venezuelan people since historic times, where courage and the determination to be free have imposed over any circumstance:

We come from afar, from many struggles, battles and victories of our ancestors, with their culture, their worldview and their music. We are the result of the historical and great causes of liberators. The history of our America is a great legacy that today we defend with dignity and courage. “We are on the right side!” said the head of state.

It is important to highlight that on December 3, once again, the entire Venezuelan people, without distinction of political position, ethnicity or religion, are called to participate in the seventh national referendum, this time to defend Guayana Essequiba.

It is the first time, in 200 years, that Venezuela’s rights over Guyana Esequiba have been consulted, under a public debate and with this historic magnitude.

There are five transcendental questions:

– Do you agree to reject by all means, in accordance with the law, the line fraudulently imposed by the Paris Arbitration Award of 1899, which seeks to deprive us of our Guayana Essequiba?

– Do you support the 1966 Geneva Agreement as the only valid legal instrument to reach a practical and satisfactory solution for Venezuela and Guyana regarding the controversy over the territory of Guayana Esequiba?

– Do you agree with Venezuela’s historical position of not recognizing the Jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice to resolve the territorial controversy over Guayana Esequiba?

– Do you agree to oppose, by all legal means, Guyana’s claim to unilaterally, illegally and in violation of international law, dispose of a sea pending delimitation?

– Do you agree with the creation of the Guayana Essequiba state and the development of an accelerated plan for integral care for the current and future population of that territory that includes, among others, the granting of Venezuelan citizenship and identity card, in accordance with the Agreement of Geneva and international law, consequently incorporating said state on the map of Venezuelan territory?

Venezuela has sufficient political and historical details that indicate that the territory of Guayana Esequiba belongs to it and the people of Bolívar will defend it in the next electoral consultation.

We come from afar, from many struggles, battles and victories of our ancestors, with their culture, their worldview and their music. We are the result of the historic and great causes of Liberators and Liberators. The history of our America is a great legacy that today…”
