Head of State reiterates call for consultative referendum in defense of Essequibo

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, reiterated the call to the people of Venezuela to prepare to go to a national referendum “this very year”, for the defense of the Essequibo territory, “so that the Geneva Agreement is respected, and advance solutions between both parties, in a peaceful manner.”

This was announced by the head of State, during the “Con Maduro+” program, in its 20th edition, and also ratified the consensus of the Homeland, whose main objective is “to guarantee Venezuela the peace and the unbreakable right of freedom”. This statement, by President Maduro, was made when remembering the meeting he had last week with the Expanded Military Political High Command, in which they debated “what the offensive plans will be on all battle fronts, to victoriously end 2023.”

That is what the Meeting of the Political Military Police High Command of our country was for,” he stressed, while at the same time it is to reinforce that “the reins must be taken by listening, debating, concluding, acting, studying the issues, always studying, reviewing all the issues,” said President Maduro.

The head of state detailed each of the consensuses that have to do with the construction of a new, diversified and productive economic model, as a first instance, the demand for the lifting of sanctions and the condemnation of the criminal nature of the sanctions against Venezuela, It is the second consensus of the Homeland.

The recovery of the social welfare State is part of the third consensus and in this sense, President Maduro highlighted that the national government is moving forward to improve the income of Venezuelans, strengthen education, health and everything that has to do with the happiness of the people, he detailed that three new missions will soon be created that will come to protect women, youth and all the people of Venezuela, among which he specified: Venezuela Women Mission and the Equality and People’s Welfare Mission.

The fourth consensus has to do with the defense of peace: “We all together must create the conditions for stability in Venezuela. We cannot allow anyone to sow hatred in our country,” said the national leader. Regarding the fifth and last consensus, he said, “is about the recovery of the historical, legal, maritime and territorial rights of Guayana Esequiba. So that the Geneva Agreement is respected and solutions for the parties advance in a peaceful manner,” he highlighted.
