In an interview with the Chinese News Agency, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro , ratified that the Bolivarian Government and the Venezuelan People will not renounce to the defense and recovery of the Citgo company:
“It is important for the issue of the Citgo company to be known, this is a company that Venezuela bought many years ago, which has six important refineries in the United States and more than 8,000 fuel service stations with a presence in several states of the country.”, he explained from the Casona Cultural Aquiles Nazoa, located in Caracas.
In context, he recalled that this subsidiary company of Petróleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA), generated important dividends to the country in the order of one billion dollars annually, with a daily sale of up to 600,000 barrels:
“This meant an important income for the Republic, and it is a company that also supplied Venezuela with fuel when it was needed, because we are only three days away by navigation, that is, it covered important services for the country, important benefits for Venezuela”, highlighted the President.
Likewise, he denounced that Citgo was “kidnapped” in the government of Donald Trump “and they intend to auction it off illegally, which demonstrates the insecurity that investors around the world have in the United States of North America, this shows that they do not respect laws, “They do not respect property rights, they do not respect international law, it is simply a terrible, horrific looting that Venezuela denounces.”

On the other hand, when referring to the support of several countries in the world in the face of the denunciation of illegal and criminal sanctions, the Venezuelan Head of State thanked “deeply the courage and firmness of the government of President Xi Jinping, of the Chinese people for accompanying Venezuela. in denouncing sanctions.”
He pointed out that the sanctions seek to “affect, damage, hurt the social and economic life of the family, the community, in short, our people.”
In this regard, he confirmed that the Bolivarian Government, through the implementation of public policies, has managed to serve the Venezuelan people in different areas such as health, education, food, housing and social well-being.
