UN document ratifies devastating effects of sanctions in Venezuela

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela received the report published by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet.

In the document are reaffirmed the devastating effects of the unilateral coercive measures, imposed by the United States government against Venezuela since 2014, which decreased national income by 99 percent and which imply the commission of crimes against humanity.

However, Venezuela regrets that the report incorporates unsubstantiated refinements, which have not been verified with the State authorities, regarding alleged arbitrary detentions and persecutions.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela will continue to cooperate with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, based on respect for the truth, objectivity, non-selectivity, impartiality, non-interference and constructive dialogue.

Venezuela ratifies its commitment to guarantee Human Rights, as the only way for the peace and tranquility of the people.
