Bolivarian Government presents appeal to the ICC against the “Venezuela 1” matter

The Vice President for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, indicated in his official account of the X social network that “the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela presented before the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) the grounds of its appeal, against the decision that authorized the resumption of the investigation in the matter called “Venezuela 1”.

Through an official statement, Ñáñez highlighted that the Bolivarian nation provided the elements that support its appeal, in which it denounces the shortcomings of the aforementioned decision of the Preliminary Chamber, which is contrary to truth and justice.

It should be noted that on June 27, the Venezuelan government expressed its disagreement with the decision adopted by the ICC Preliminary Questions Chamber, to authorize the resumption of the investigation by the ICC Prosecutor’s Office, in the case called ” Venezuela 1”.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela confirms that it will continue to use all available actions under international law to defend the truth and ensure its rights as a nation, against this offensive that openly uses the institutional framework of the International Criminal Court for political purposes.
