President Maduro: It is an obligation for Venezuela, having the resources, to exercise its right to vote at the UN

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, stated that the representation of the Bolivarian nation could not vote in the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (UNGA), the draft resolution to lift the United States blockade against Cuba, due to the unilateral coercive measures.

During the celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the Cuba-Venezuela Agreement, the Head of State pointed out: “It is an obligation and duty of the Secretary General, António Guterres, to resolve that Venezuela, having the resources, can have the bank account to pay and have the right to vote at the UN”.

Likewise, he congratulated his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and his people, for the victory of the UNGA resolution against the US blockade, with a total of 185 votes in favor of the Caribbean nation.

The first authority of the country emphasized that North American and European imperialism persecute and torture countries to the last bank account, in order to turn political negotiation into a weapon to set conditions, and the purpose is to bend and twist the arm of the peoples:

It is not easy to build a free social health system in a country that is sanctioned, persecuted, blocked, martyred. A country tortured by North American imperialism and the imperialisms of the world”, he pointed out.
