Venezuela will continue trading gold with Turkey in a legal and transparent manner

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, emphasized on Monday that Venezuela will continue to market gold in a legal and transparent manner with the Republic of Turkey.

In a press conference with national and international media held at Miraflores Palace, Maduro said that nobody should get involved in the trading of Venezuelan gold: “We do not get into the trade made by the US or any other government, Let nobody mess with our commercial activities!”.

In response to the recent sanctions by the US government regarding the accusation that Venezuela illegally exports gold to Turkey in order to make it reach Iran, the Venezuelan Head of State said that “it is very petty to pretend with an illegal sanction to prevent Venezuela from producing gold and selling it in the world”.

In this regard, the President recalled that next year the country will triple the production of gold and will also certify the second gold reserve in the world.

The union with the Eurasian nation will promote new sources of wealth that will balance the wealth that flows through oil.

Finally, he said: “Venezuela has the right to sell in the world anything it produces” and the objective is to advance investments in refining, petrochemicals, gold production, diamond, coltan, iron, aluminum, tourism, among others.
