President Maduro: Food sector has grown strongly in 2022

“The food sector has grown strongly this 2022,” said this Thursday the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, at the work journey dedicated to the country’s petrochemical and agricultural sector.

In the balance, he detailed that “the beef sector, for 2022, had a growth of 50.5%; the production of sugar grew by 31.5%; milk 31.6%, 24.7% in sardine catch; rice 24.4%; chicken 23.4%; coffee 19.6%, among others. All this indicates the reactivation in agricultural matters that we have carried out with the Bolivarian Revolution”.

In relation to the (edible) oil category, the chief executive pointed out that it has not grown enough, just 14.4%, but there is a sustained growth base that will increase production in the medium term:

In the sector of the production of pasta, there is a growth by 14.2%, in sausages 12.1% and a 4% in legumes”.

The head of state was accompanied by the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, who pointed out that “articulated policies have given good results”, after holding a meeting with the Venezuelan Chamber of the Food Industry (CAVIDEA), at the First National Meeting of the Supplier Development Program.

Likewise, Rodríguez affirmed that the food industry is one of the sectors that is recovering the most in the Venezuelan economy.
