Venezuela achieves release of the 19 Emtrasur crew members kidnapped in Argentina

After 4 months and 15 days kidnapped in Argentina, this Friday the 5 crew members of Emtrasur, a subsidiary of Conviasa, who were waiting to be released, arrived in Venezuela, achieving the rescue of the 19 unjustly accused members.

Authorities from Venezuela and Iran, as well as family and friends, welcomed the crew upon arrival at the Maiquetía International Airport, on the Conviasa flight that covers the Viru Viru-Caracas route.

The Minister of People’s Power for Transportation and President of Conviasa, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, led the welcome to these heroes of the air. He indicated: “today we are in victory in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and in the Islamic Republic of Iran, because we have achieved, thanks to the driver of victories, our President Nicolás Maduro, the freedom of the 19 crew members that we had kidnapped by the Argentine judiciary”.

The actions of the Venezuelan State showed that the arbitrary measure lacked valid arguments, which is why Víctor Pérez, Mario Arraga, Abdolbaset Mohammadi, Saeid Valizadeh and Gholamreza Ghasemi, today return to their nation after the lifting of the decision that prevented their departure from that country, by Judge Cecilia Incardona. “In these circumstances we have here in Venezuela meeting with their families”, stressed the Minister.

Velásquez Araguayán pointed out that the Iranian pilots and instructors would be returning to meet their relatives in Tehran on Saturday. He also stressed “here we are in a celebration, it is the spirit of the Venezuelan resistance, the spirit of all the strength we have had as a country”.

The release of the Boeing 747 “Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi” aircraft is still pending, in this regard the head of the Transportation portfolio stressed “in the first stage we dedicated ourselves to the crew, today we have them here and we are celebrating, now the plane is coming. We are sure that soon, with strategic patience, with the guidelines established by our President, sooner rather than later we will have it back here in Venezuela”.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Venezuela, Hojjatollah Soltani, referred to the unity between Iran and Venezuela, describing this day as a symbol of the “victory of truth against lies.”

The Iranian diplomat also made reference to the media war waged by tabloid media manipulated by imperial governments: “It is not a secret to the world that the US is an expert in fabricating lies, in making headlines in the world’s mass media, they published many falsehoods about this case, but where are the documents? The lack of these forced the Argentine justice system to release the crew”.

He assured that from the beginning they had full confidence in the wisdom of Venezuela, which has a fairly strong legal team, as evidenced by the results of the case. “Congratulations to Venezuela, congratulations to Iran and congratulations to justice.”
