Venezuela solidarizes with Thailand after shooting that left 32 dead

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expressed its solidarity with the people and government of Thailand, after the shooting registered this Thursday in a daycare center in the northeast of the country, which left 32 people dead and approximately 12 injured.

Through a communiqué, Venezuela “encourages the work that the Thai authorities have begun to investigate the events that led to this reprehensible act of violence, which had innocent children as its main objective”.

According to the investigations, the massacre – where 23 children died – was carried out by a former police officer, who would have murdered his wife and son, before taking his own life.

The People and Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela express their deepest condolences to the People and Government of the Kingdom of Thailand for the unfortunate event that occurred in a daycare center located in the province of Nongbua Lamphu, northeast of that sisterly nation, where at least 32 people were killed, including 23 children between two and three years old, by the attack of a former police officer, who later committed suicide after also killing his wife and son.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela conveys its solidarity to the families of the victims, and raises its prayers for the speedy recovery of the numerous wounded. Likewise, it encourages the efforts that the Thai authorities have initiated in order to investigate the events that led to this reprehensible act of violence, which had innocent children as its main objective.”
