The National Assembly called for an extraordinary session for December 30, in order to discuss a proposal to reform the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).
This was reported by the president of the Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, at the end of a balance meeting of the Dialogue and Reconciliation Commission.
He explained that the reform presented by the president of the Highest Court, Maikel Moreno, refers specifically to article 8 of the aforementioned law, with the purpose of reducing the number of members, which is currently 32.
Once the AN approves the reform of the law and the number of members is established, the necessary procedures will begin for the formation of a nomination committee and, later, the choice of the main and alternate magistrates of the five chambers (Administrative, Electoral, Civil Cassation, Social Cassation and Criminal Cassation) and of the Constitutional Chamber, explained Rodríguez.
