President Nicolás Maduro calls for the restart of classes after the cyclone

This Thursday, June 30, academic activities will resume in schools, high schools and universities throughout the country, after the departure of the potential tropical cyclone two from national territory.

This was announced by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, when offering a general balance on the passage of the potential tropical cyclone two through the country.

In a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión, the head of state explained that before the imminent culmination of the 2021-2022 school year, it is necessary to resume classes and “return to normality”:

“Children and young people are doing their homework, many are preparing the closing ceremony of the school year, we have to gradually return to normality,” he pointed out.

The temporary suspension of classes that would initially cover June 29 and 30, responded to the threat of tropical cyclone two passing through Venezuela.

To remain on alert:

During his message, President Nicolás Maduro reported that, fortunately, the potential tropical cyclone two dissipated without causing damage in the country, registering only moderate rains in some regions of the country and that said weather phenomenon is already outside the country.

In this context, he congratulated the officials of the FANB, of the security organs, of the governorates and mayors of the country, as well as the members of the Council of Vice Presidents and the Government team “for the deployment carried out to guarantee the protection of the people“.

He finally indicated that the security agencies, the prevention agencies and the organized people must remain “active and alert.”

This has served as an experience. It had us very worried but it has allowed us to learn and prepare. We cannot sing victory, we have been lucky, but it is necessary to continue building the social culture of prevention against cyclones and natural phenomena”, he concluded.
