Venezuela and Iran reaffirm bilateral and multilateral cooperation in Qatar

The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Félix Plasencia, held a meeting with the Oil Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Javad Owji, as part of the work agenda during his visit to Qatar to participate in the 6th Summit of Chiefs of State and Government of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries.

The meeting also included the participation of the president of Petróleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA), Asdrúbal Chávez, and was the opportunity to reiterate the unconditional support between Venezuela and Iran both in the bilateral and multilateral spheres.

Both nations ratified their commitment to continue strengthening cooperation ties in all areas that contribute to the creation of new economic spaces for the progress and development of peoples.

Likewise, they reaffirmed mutual support in the multilateral field in order to overcome the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government and its allies, as well as to continue contributing to the construction of a multi-polar world and to peace between the different regions.

During his stay in Doha, Chancellor Plasencia also met with the Minister of Economy of the Federation of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, and the Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Gabriel Obiang, as well as with the secretary general of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, Mohamed Hamel.
