The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, denounced before the Security Council of the United Nations, a combined strategy by the United States and Colombia to justify a military aggression against Venezuela.
Through a communication signed by Samuel Moncada, permanent representative ambassador of Venezuela to the United Nations, he (Moncada) presented statements by the four main spokesmen of the Colombian State and its military chain of command, which try to involve Venezuela into the internal war in Colombia.
The Venezuelan Ambassador also presented statements by the head of the United States Southern Command, Craig Faller, indicating that the danger of a military attack against Venezuela has not ceased.
In the letter is explained chronologically, how the statements have become a concrete reality with aggressions, attacks and use of mercenaries on the air and maritime border of Venezuela:
“Outside of politics there is only war, and today the governments of Bogotá and Washington are determined to destroy the peaceful political processes agreed upon by the Venezuelan people. The evidence is for everyone to see. This has been expressed by President Iván Duque himself on several occasions, including during the recent General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly. It is necessary to stop the war machinery of these governments, before they make the grave mistake of initiating an armed attack against Venezuela”, wrote Moncada.
Against this background, Venezuela requested for the issue be discussed at the next meeting on Colombia, and for the communication and its annexes to be distributed to the members of the Security Council.
