President Maduro welcomed international observers in Miraflores

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, welcomed this Tuesday at Miraflores Palace the international observers who accompanied the mega-elections on November 21

More than 300 observers, from more than 50 countries, were deployed throughout the national territory, at the invitation of the CNE, to serve as observers of the electoral process, where more than 42% of the population elected representatives for more than 3,000 public positions.

Present at this high-level meeting were the leader of the “Poder Ciudadano Siglo XXI” (21st Century Citizen Power) movement, Piedad Córdoba, the president of the Latin American Council of Electoral Experts (CEELA), Nicanor Moscoso, the Argentine parliamentarian for the political party Frente para la Victoria (Front for Victory), Carlos Aníbal López, and the vice president of the North America COPPPAL Juvenile region (Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America), Valeria Flores Gauna.

Also in attendance were Suzanne Adely, Jordan Winquist, Sarah Coffey Bowes, who are representatives of the National Lawyers Guild, belonging to the United States, whose foundation dates back to 1937 and is the largest and oldest progressive Bar Association in the North American country.

The electoral process, which had the participation of more than 70,000 candidates, in which regional and municipal governors were elected, as well as representatives of the Municipal Councils and Legislative Councils, registered a participation of 42.26% of the electoral roll, according to the second bulletin issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

In this sense, the Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole (GPPSB) was awarded 18 governorships and 205 mayoralties, while the Democratic Unity Table (MUD) added two governorships and 59 mayoralties. Other parties won a governorship and 21 mayors, according to the bulletin issued in the last hours by the Electoral Power.
