President Maduro: In Venezuela never existed a duality of power

This Sunday the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, assured that in the country “never existed” the alleged duality of power in Venezuela, a thesis that was only part of an international campaign orchestrated to overthrow the National Government:

In here there was never a duality from a political point of view, what there was indeed was a brutal campaign by a person who believed himself to be the president of a country”, he emphasized in an interview in the “Aquí con Ernesto Villegas” (Here with Ernesto Villegas) program, moderated by journalist Ernesto Villegas Poljak.

Emphasizing that “the duality of power never existed,” he indicated that the self-proclaimed Juan Guaidó acted as a “puppet” of the United States -USA- government, “to achieve what they were looking for: the destruction of the Bolivarian Revolution, and a kind of political and economic colonization of Venezuela”.

The fantasy of the interim government:

He explained that the failure of the interim was sentenced in the understanding memorandum signed between the National Government and the Unitary Platform of Venezuela in Mexico, where is recognized the legitimacy of the administration he leads:

They signed themselves to end the fantasy of the interim government. In Mexico, the most important thing is that there is a mutual recognition”, he said.

The head of state affirmed that Juan Guaidó “is defeated and crushed”, as are the intervention maneuvers in Venezuela.

He stressed that if there were two instances of the National Government, the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic would not have been successful, given the high levels of contagion in neighboring nations such as Colombia and Brazil.

In this sense, he pointed out that there is only one legitimate government recognized by the absolute majority of Venezuelans that is in full exercise of its functions.
