COVID: 456 days into the pandemic, Venezuela registers 1,197 new infections

456 days into the pandemic, we report that during the last 24 hours the country registered 1,197 new infections, 1,186 by community transmission and 11 imported cases, while the recovery rate is placed at 92% of the total cases by registering 233,028 recovered patients thanks to the free treatments guaranteed by the Bolivarian Government.

The information was released by the Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, through a series of publications on his account on the Twitter social network,

@luchaalmada, during the customary daily balance offered by the Presidential Commission for Control and the Prevention of COVID-19.

The minister explained that the cases of community transmission are distributed (by state) as follows: Zulia (353), Lara (142), Yaracuy (140), Caracas (99), Miranda (71), Aragua (68), Apure (63) , Nueva Esparta (60), Anzoátegui (37), Sucre (35), Monagas (31), La Guaira (29), Trujillo (23), Delta Amacuro (16), Bolívar (10), Cojedes (4), Carabobo (2), Barinas (1), Táchira (1), Portuguesa (1).

Minister Freddy Ñáñez also pointed out that Venezuela has 17,010 active cases, 12,419 are being treated in Hospitals, 4,022 in Integral Diagnostic Centers and 569 in private clinics.

He added that there are 8,876 patients who are Asymptomatic, 6,804 with Mild Acute Respiratory Failure, 2,845 deceased people, 1,042 with Moderate Acute Respiratory Failure and 288 in Intensive Care Units.

Of the 11 imported cases, 7 come from Panama, 2 from the Dominican Republic, 1 from Bolivia and 1 from Iran, all with entry through La Guaira state.

Minister Freddy Ñáñez, lamented the death of 16 new victims, to reach 2,845:

– 2 men, aged 53, 64, and 2 women aged 59,79 from Sucre state

– 3 Men 75, 59, 42 years old from Zulia state

A 53-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman from Apure state

– 2 men aged 67 and 76 from Miranda state

– 2 men, 55 and 73 years old from La Guaira state

A 52-year-old woman from Cojedes state

A 71-year-old woman from Carabobo state

– A 45-year-old woman from Guárico state
