TSJ will request extradition of Leopoldo López from Spain

The Supreme Court of Justice, declared as appropriate to request to the Kingdom of Spain the active extradition of Leopoldo López, for him to serve the remaining of his sentence in Venezuela.

Leopoldo López was punished by the Venezuelan justice, “for the commission of the crimes as a determiner in the crime of arson, determiner in the crime of damage, author in the crime of public instigation and association, with a penalty of 8 years, 6 months, 25 days and 12 hours”, reported the highest court in the country through a press release.

In the judgment of the Criminal Cassation Chamber, with a presentation by Judge Elsa Gómez, it was ordered to send to the National Executive Power, by an organ of the Ministry of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, the certified copies of the ruling and the actions that are in the file.
