One year after Operation Gideon, Iván Duque’s continued crime against Venezuela is evidenced

One year after the frustrated Operation Gedeón, the president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Jorge Rodríguez presented the testimony recorded by the Colombian prosecutor’s office of the defector captain of the FANB, Jimmi José Montesinos Olivar, an attestation that confirms the direct participation of the governments of Colombia and the United States in the preparation of this mercenary aggression.

At a press conference, Rodríguez revealed that the confession by the defector Montesinos confirms all the denounces made by the Venezuelan Government regarding the protection provided by the government of Iván Duque to the mercenary camps in the north of Colombian territory, as well as the links with the US Drug Enforcement Agency, DEA.

Regarding this aspect, he stressed that “DEA agents were guarding the camps of the Doble Rueda (“Double Wheel”) drug trafficker” , where were planned and trained the mercenaries who would participate in Operation Gideon on May 3, 2020.

Jimmy Montesinos confessed all the training in the camps and where they were located, as well as all the planning of Operation Gideon (…) The testimonies of those involved in Operation Gideon are evident, public and notorious, however Colombia has denied all these plans”, Emphasized Rodríguez.

When making a count of the actions carried out in the framework of this case, he affirmed that “there are almost a dozen, the times that we have denounced the attacks from Colombia with evidence and that the relationship between Iván Duque, Juan Guaidó and Jordan Goudreau with the Donald Trump’s administration are true and proven, they are proven facts”.

Likewise, he warned about the treatment that Elkin Javier López Torres, a.k.a. “Doble Rueda” and the defector Jimmy Montesinos have received by the Colombian authorities. “On May 4, after the failure of the mercenary incursion, they captured Mr. “Doble Rueda” and Jimmy Montesinos on their farm, and they released them by a phone call, and do you know what the excuse was for setting them free?, that the arrest had been illegal” , he pointed out.

Justice will come:

When asked about the alleged involvement of former deputy Juan Guaidó in these terrorist actions, Rodríguez reiterated that (they) “signed a macabre contract to invade Venezuela, in that contract the limits of Venezuela are eliminated, they replace the FANB with a North American company (…) All the signatures were verified and resulted being valid, those of Guaidó, Goudreau, Rendón and Vergara”, Rodríguez told the national and international media, assuring that “sooner rather than later justice will have to reach all these criminals”.

In this sense, he announced that Venezuela will deploy new legal actions to advance the extradition process of one of the main persons responsible for Operation Gideon, Jordan Goudreau, the confessed leader of the frustrated mercenary aggression.
