COVID: Venezuela registers 1,198 new community transmissions, 8 imported cases and adds 147,163 recovered patients

A total of 1,206 new cases of contagion by COVID-19, of which 1,198 are of community transmission and 8 imported, were detected in the last 24 hours by the Venezuelan health authorities, raising the cumulative total of positives to 159,149, while the recovery rate dropped one point, registering 92 percent of the total cases, registering 147,163 people healed thanks to the free treatments guaranteed by the Bolivarian Government.

This was announced this Holy Tuesday by the sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, when giving the daily report offered by the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of COVID-19.

He announced that today’s community cases are located in 21 states: Caracas (215), Miranda (182), La Guaira (135), Anzoátegui (102), Aragua (93), Bolívar (71), Carabobo (70 ), Monagas (62), Falcón (61), Yaracuy (57), Zulia (29), Portuguesa (29), Guárico (29), Apure (21), Lara (17), Nueva Esparta (10), Cojedes ( 8), Trujillo (3), Táchira (2), Mérida (1), Barinas (1).

Caracas is the entity that registers the most cases of new infections, in 20 of its 22 parishes: El Valle (38), Sucre (22), El Junquito (19), Coche (16), Altagracia (15), San Bernardino (13), El Paraíso (11), El Recreo (11), La Candelaria (10), Macarao (10), San Pedro (7), Santa Rosalía (7), 23 de Enero (7), San Juan (5), La Vega (5), La Pastora (3), Antímano (2), San José (2), San Agustín (1), Caricuao (1)

Of the imported cases, seven (7) come from Panama with entry through Carabobo state, and one (1) from Brazil through Bolívar state.

He regretted announcing the death of twelve (12) new victims of COVID-19:

  • A 62-year-old woman and 1 45-year-old man, both from Mérida state
  • 2 men aged 63 and 75, both from Caracas
  • A 58-year-old man from La Guaira
  • A 46-year-old woman and 2 men 61 and 40 years old, from Aragua
  • A 61-year-old man, from Anzoátegui
  • A 40 years old woman, from Sucre
  • A man, 61 years old, from Lara
  • A woman, 61 years old, from Guárico

On the general statistics, he reported the following data:

  • Cumulative total of positives: 159,149
  • Total of recovered: 147,153 people healed (92% of the accumulated total)
  • 10,397 currently active cases
  • 10,115 attended in the public health system and 282 in private clinics
  • 5,498 patients are asymptomatic
  • 4,283 with mild Acute Respiratory Failure
  • 432 with Moderate Acute Respiratory Failure
  • 184 in Intensive Care Units (ICU)
  • Accumulated total of 1,589 deaths

Finally, he announced that to date 3,179,174 free tests have been applied, equivalent to 105,969 per million inhabitants.

In the second week of radical quarantine of the Venezuelan formula to cut infections of the Brazilian variant, Minister Ñáñez highlighted the fact that statistical records show a drop of one point in the percentage of recovery of patients, while symptomatic cases increase and have lowered the cases of people who were generally without symptoms (asymptomatic).
