Venezuela sues the US before WTO for the imposition of coercive measures against Venezuela

This Friday, Venezuela sued the United States government before the World Trade Organization (WTO) for the imposition of unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela.

The Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, reported that the complaint is intended to denounce the breach of international trade rules.

The justifications are based on the restriction and discrimination to trade in goods and services, relative to “national treatment and most favored nation”.

“Sooner rather than later Venezuela will defeat with (international) law what the US intends to impose by force,” said Arreaza.

The illegal actions of Washington against Caracas for political reasons have an impact on the quality of life of Venezuelans.

Furthermore, by coercing international entities and other governments, they seek to limit the country’s commercial and productive capacities.

Different instances of the United Nations Organization (UN) have spoken and urged for an immediate suspension of these measures.

Recently, the UN rapporteur, Alena Douhan, recognized in her report the consequences of this foreign policy.

The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) also recognizes them and “admits that they are against humanity,” as quotes the Chancellory.
