Venezuela and Russia strengthen strategic alliances to strengthen bilateral relations

In order to strengthen strategic alliances to strengthen bilateral relations between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Russian Federation, this Friday a meeting was held between the Venezuelan Chancellor, Jorge Arreaza, and the accredited ambassador in the country Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov.

During this meeting, held in the spaces of the “Antonio José de Sucre” Yellow House, in Caracas, both diplomats made an analysis of the current geopolitical situation, reviewed the cooperation agenda in the multilateral sphere and discussed access to Sputnik V, the first vaccine registered in the world to combat COVID-19.

Russia and Venezuela: A relationship of brotherhood:

It should be noted that last December, Venezuela signed a contract with Russia to formalize the acquisition of the Sputnik V vaccine, which shows an efficacy of 92%, according to clinical studies.

On that occasion, the Minister of People’s Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, reaffirmed that this agreement reflects that both countries maintain “a relationship of brotherhood, of cooperation that not even the blockade of the United States has been able to stop in the international arena.”

The cooperation alliance between Venezuela and Russia includes multiple agreements in the areas of energy, transportation, mining, agriculture, health, pharmaceuticals and education.
