AN will form a special commission to listen to the needs of the people and promote national dialogue

Soon a commission will come out to propose the great national dialogue, for peace, for the consolidation of ideals and republican life, to go to the communal parliament. Also from this National Assembly, a defense of the Essequibo territory will come out,” said the president of the National Assembly (AN) Jorge Rodríguez on Tuesday.

Regarding the installation and swearing-in of the new board of directors of Parliament, Rodríguez pointed out that from this new NA laws must be approved to protect the communes and communal councils, this special Commission must be for political, economic and social dialogue of the people.

During his first speech as president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez indicated that the Commission will be based on a policy of listening to the needs of Venezuelans “the new management of the NA should not be kept within Parliament. If we stay on the walls of this building we will have failed. We must take to the streets of those votes that they put us in this National Assembly, because we must listen”.

In this sense, he reiterated that in this new National Assembly everyone can and should ask themselves what is the reason why we are here today. Among many other reasons we are here because a democracy is supported by the body of laws that comprise it, which is why we must exercise a true policy based on the ability to listen and that is because we are spokespersons for everyone.

We are here for political reconciliation, but without forgetting, without impunity. We face crimes that wanted to end our territory and the people, this NA is one of the votes that they put us here; We must listen, we are not representatives of anyone, we are spokespersons for everyone,” he added.

In the same way, he expressed that the intention of this commission is to achieve the participation of all sectors that make up the country, even those that did not participate in the electoral process.
