President of the NA Jorge Rodríguez urged deputies to promote reconciliation and concord of the people

The president of the new National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, urged the 277 elected deputies that make up the new parliamentary cycle to promote reconciliation and concord with a view to a better future for the Venezuelan people.

However, he pointed out that “there must be reconciliation but without amnesia, forgiveness without forgetting and democratic expression. There are crimes that must be paid, crimes against the most humble and against the people,” said the highest authority of the Legislative Power.

He stated to the opposition deputies who were elected on December 6 in the parliamentary elections: “You are here for the voice of the people of Venezuela, which was expressed freely and democratically, just as you were here for five years also for the vote of the people of Venezuela, (not like) those who came to betray the voice of those who elected them”.

So he recalled that the past period was even used to end Venezuelan territory, where he agreed with paramilitary gangs to serve as transportation to the city of Cúcuta.

Where “one of the envoys was here as president of the National Assembly and asked to deliver the Essequibo territory to the empire. Thousands of millions of dollars have been stolen, that would have been useful for the purchase of food, vaccines and medicines for the people, equipping hospitals and especially in times of pandemic”, expressed Rodríguez.

He denounced that the international media applauded the illegal sanctions and coercive measures of foreign governments against Venezuela, and that they had said that the pacts to deliver and seize the Essequibo territory were fair. “Now they are an approximation to cosmic dust,” he indicated.

On the other hand, he reported that soon the new Parliament will have a Special Commission to embark on the path of dialogue, reconciliation, peace and ideals where all the voices of the people, peasants, workers, businessmen and other sectors are present.
