CLAP increased daily production capacity by 184%

The Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP) increased their daily production capacity by 184% compared to 2018; said this Thursday the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

“In 2018, they produced 249,600 combos, at this time they are producing 460,800 throughout the national territory”, said the president.

He also detailed that, between 2019 and 2020, the territorialized production of the CLAPs has increased by 152%, going from 18,837,119 to 28,733,166 combos.

In relation to this, President Maduro urged to advance in “large-scale production and get the mechanisms for Venezuela to produce everything”, he said.

He pointed out that it is necessary to improve the quality of the combos and advance in the production of animal protein from the local level.

In this regard, the Minister for Alimentation, Carlos Leal Tellería, added that to date they have 48 food production centers in 18 states.

This allows to leverage food production, while shortening logistics processes, as stressed the minister: “All social investment aimed at the alimentary security of the people remains in the locality to leverage local production”, said Leal Tellería.

The Head of State led a videoconference for the strengthening of the Community Economic System and the CLAPs, as part of the Great Mission AgroVenezuela.
