Ambassador Samuel Moncada: Trump administration aims to suppress people’s will and right by postponing elections

The ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Samuel Moncada on Friday qualified as racist some members of the United States (US) government, who seek to hide the sinister history of the electoral system in that country by wanting to suppress the popular will, this by referring to Donald Trump’s suggestions to postpone the presidential elections scheduled for November where the polls put him at a disadvantage and a marked effect on his chances of reelection due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in the economy of that country.

“Racists in Washington hide the sinister history of their electoral system as they become judges of elections in Venezuela. If the elections in other countries had the defects of the US, Trump and his henchmen would be the first to disown them”, highlights part of the message published by Moncada through his official account on the Twitter social network, @SMoncada_VEN.

He stressed that throughout the history of the United States, its government has been in charge of using traps for segregation and racism among the population when exercising votes, which impeded their rights as citizens.

“While today the Trump government is engaged in blockades and interference against Venezuela, it is time for the world to see the disaster of the US political and electoral system” refers in another message.
