1,176 Generals and Admirals of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces were promoted

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela led the promotion ceremony of 1,176 Generals and Admirals on the day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and in the celebration of the 209th anniversary of the signing of the country’s Independence Act.

The officers of the military body receive the immediate hierarchy of Division Generals, Vice Admirals, Brigadier Generals and Rear Admirals, as well as a replica of the sword of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.

In his speech, the Head of State and Commander of the FANB, exhorted the officers to remain “disciplined, forging the spirit, the military honor, committed to the people”, to face the constant threats from abroad that attempt against the National sovereignty.

He stressed that the act of promotion is carried out to commemorate the gigantic step that the Liberators of the Fatherland took: “Today we have to say: Thank you Liberators, here we have a free people, commemorating that foundational step; for 209 years we have declared that we are a free, sovereign and independent Republic!”, said the President.

The act was carried out at the Military Academy of Venezuela – under strict sanitary controls – with the presence of other authorities of the National Executive.

In addition, it was used to carry out an act of promotion of General officers and Admirals, as a testimony of recognition to all the military and civilian personnel of the FANB, for also celebrating their day.

“A warm hug today, on the day that is celebrated the day of our Armed Forces. An applause from the entire country to its FANB”, he expressed.

He congratulated the officers who promoted to Brigadier General, Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral and other hierarchies and degrees, for their deserved merits and urged them to continue to advance in defense of the independence of the Venezuelan homeland.

He also took the opportunity to especially congratulate the officers and students who obtained their first places in their respective promotions from all the components of the FANB: Army, Navy, Aviation and the Bolivarian National Guard.

“You be proud of your promotions, stay ahead as always, loyal, disciplined, forging a spirit of be, committed to the people and homeland. More Bolivarians than ever, more Chavistas than ever!”

Finally, he thanked the soldiers and the people for this military act to commemorate July 5, “the birthday of independence, of that gigantic step that the founding fathers of the country made.”

“We have a free people with that foundational step, when we declared for the first time that we are a Republic, free, sovereign and independent forever.”
