Venezuela confirms 13 new Covid-19 cases by community transmission and 92 imported cases

The Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, confirmedon Wednesday 106 new Covid-19 coronavirus positive cases, which raises the total number of infected by the outbreak to 2,738.

She explained that 13 are cases of community transmission, 92 are imported cases; of which 89 are coming from Colombia; and one is by contact with an international traveler.

“Special measures of confinement, of a radical quarantine must be maintained, in order to avoid at this moment when we are deployed; so we can deepen the screening we are doing”, she stressed during the telephone contact.

In this regard, she asserted that Venezuela only has 556 national cases, while 2,182 infected cases are imported.

Of the total number of imported cases, 1,490 are coming from Colombia, 195 are from Brazil, and the rest are distributed as coming from other different countries.

In this sense, she reiterated her alert on Venezuela’s border countries, since in both nations (Colombia and Brazil) there are no necessary preventive measures to stop the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus; which affects Venezuela, since the nation is the only country that is receiving compatriots who are fleeing from xenophobia and the health crisis caused by Covid-19.

Venezuela, for its part, maintains the figure of 487 patients recovered from the outbreak.
