2,000 Venezuelans who entered the country through the border will return to their states this Thursday

Approximately 2,000 Venezuelans who entered the country through the border with Colombia, will return to their states of origin this Thursday, after the screening tests for Covid-19 were carried out, said the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro .

The Venezuelan head of state indicated that these 2,000 are part of the more than 6,000 nationals who have already entered through the Colombian border, after being victims of xenophobia, mistreatment and labor exploitation in other countries.

Similarly, he indicated that more than a thousand people have entered through the border with Zulia, and hundreds of Venezuelans through the border with Brazil.

Last Monday, the protector of Táchira state, Freddy Bernal, pointed out that those Venezuelans who return through the border are being guaranteed food supplies, in order to fully comply with the quarantine – of 14 days minimum – and thus avoid the spread of coronavirus.

“They have been distributed 5.8 MT of pork, 5.4 MT of beef, 25 MT of chicken, as well as 60 MT of foodstuffs, exclusively to the 5,791 people we are serving in the PASI (Integral Social Care Points)”, he said.

It should be remembered that, in addition, Venezuelans who enter through the border with Colombia undergo the mandatory rapid screening test for Covid-19, depending on the result, the PCR test is performed. If this is positive, the Venezuelan is treated at the CDI installed exclusively to serve Venezuelans who return to the country.
