Venezuela is professionally well equipped to combat the pandemic

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized on Monday that the country has all the necessary equipment to deal with the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, which is already registering 189 positive cases in the country, and 110 recovered:

«Venezuela is professionally well equipped to combat the pandemic. Venezuela has shown that it has how to respond to it, it has the Barrio Adentro (Medical Mission), the doctors and the morale to come out of this pandemic”, said the Venezuelan head of state at an event held at the Cuartel de la Montaña (Mountain Barracks), in the 23 de Enero parish in Caracas.

The National President indicated that, in addition, the National Government has the Comprehensive Diagnosis Centers (CDI), which are fully empowered to attend to people who may show with Covid-19 symptoms.

«The CDI are the secret weapon of the Revolution, Barrio Adentro (…), Washington Post, Miami Herald and the stateless ones have been for two months wishing bad things for Venezuela, (they say) Venezuela has nothing to respond with, and Venezuela has shown that it has how to respond to this”, stressed the Venezuelan president, referring to the media campaign launched by right-wing corporations, to undermine the stability of the Republic.

Likewise, he recalled that Venezuela has 23,500 hospital beds and more than 4,800 intensive care units to hospitalize and provide medical care services to all those who have coronavirus detected, so that they may pass the quarantine and treatment process in the hospitals, thus avoiding the spread of the outbreak to families and raising the number of cases.

“Today, the order I gave has been met, all Covid-19 patients are hospitalized. no one is at home, none of them should be at home (…) Venezuela is prepared for this stage, to control and keep advancing, with much humility, perseverance, medical and scientific work”, he stressed.

On the other hand, he urged the Venezuelan population to maintain the national, social and collective quarantine, which was extended for an additional 30 days in order to cut the spread chain and keep the contagion curve flat.

“Today we begin the fifth week of quarantine, and we must renew the quarantine every day, taking care of ourselves. I have a responsibility to take care of you, but we all have a responsibility to take care of the community”, he said.
