The candidate of the Ample Front of the Homeland said that after touring the country in his election campaign he is sure that he has the support of the Venezuelan people to win the presidential victory.
“Here in Venezuela, were it not for the conscience of this people, there would not be a revolution. In Venezuela there is revolution because there is a revolutionary, aware people”, he said during the closing ceremony of the electoral campaign on the Bolivar avenue in Caracas.
He highlighted the levels of consciousness and organization of the people for the defense of the Homeland.
He assured that Venezuelans have a new political culture formed in revolution, based on the ideas and values of Bolívar, Guaicaipuro, Pedro Camejo, Ezequiel Zamora and Chávez.
Democratic processes:
He recalled that in 19 years 23 elections have been held, which, added to the one on Sunday, May 20, would reach 24 electoral processes.
He stressed that the revolution has won 21 of the processes and has recognized the results in the two opportunities that were not favored.
“They put us into a terrible economic war in 2015, part of the people got confused and did not go out to vote, a mistake and they voted for their executioners (…) and they won us the elections with the current electoral system, with the same electoral system, with the same people, and I went out only a minute after they gave the results, to say: I acknowledge the victory of the Venezuelan opposition, the counter revolution has triumphed, for now”, he said.
Renewed spirit:
The flag bearer for the revolutionary forces said that after the election campaign, which led him to travel throughout the country has a renewed spirit, with recharged energy.
“It took an electoral campaign to mobilize the people, an election campaign of pedagogical ideas, to see the future of Venezuela”, he said.
He assured that he will obtain a great victory on May 20 and denounced that imperialism tried to stop the elections with external threats, with guarimbas (street riots), barricades promoted by internal groups and even tried to capture military groups to give a coup, actions that failed .
Historical event:
Nicolás Maduro said that next Sunday, May 20, will become an unforgettable historical date.
“On May 20 come rain, shine or lightning, there will be presidential elections in Venezuela”, he said.
He reiterated that the one who elects the President is the people of Venezuela, in response to the interfering statements by external factors.
Call to dialogue:
In the activity with the revolutionary militancy he insisted on the call to dialogue and informed that, of being re-elected, he will call for a great journey of national dialogue for a recovery and economic growth agreement.
He explained that he will call a process of debate in the regions, state by state, where entrepreneurs, producers, social movements, community organizations and politics will participate.
“And for dialogue you must learn to listen and to speak with respect. I want to become the great ear of the Fatherland and listen to the ideas, the clamor, the proposals of a people that knows what needs to be done to put an end to the economic mafias”, he said.
He recognized that it is necessary to rectify and correct what is wrong. He identified corruption and bureaucracy as one of the main problems.
Everyone to vote:
He called the revolutionary militancy to go out to vote early and not fall into triumphalism.
“If you do not go out to vote you are taking away the power to me to act against the criminal mafias of the economy, against the “bachaquera” (hoarder and speculator) mafias (…) I ask you to give me enough power”, he said.
Finally he invited the revolutionary forces to celebrate his victory in the People’s Balcony of Miraflores Palace after the Electoral Power gives the results of the Presidential elections.
