President Maduro thanked hospitality and kindness of the people of Azerbaijan


The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, thanked the hospitality and kindness with which he was welcomed by the people of Azerbaijan during his visit to that country, to participate in the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement (NAM) which was held on October 25 and 26 in the city of Baku.
Through his account on the Facebook social network, the Head of State wrote: “I thank the kindness and hospitality of the people of Azerbaijan. A nation full of a beautiful cultural identity that adorned us during the 18th NAM Summit. A hug to its entire people!”
He accompanied the publication with a video of a young woman from the Eurasian nation that exposes the goodness and strengths of her country.
Venezuela delivered this October 25 the pro-tempore presidency of the NAM, which it held since September 2016, to Azerbaijan.
During the balance issued by President Maduro at the summit of the movement, the national president called for strengthening the cohesion of member countries, based on the premise of unity in diversity; strengthen solidarity between the Member States and move forward in the process of revitalization of the NAM in order to reaffirm its full validity in the current and turbulent international situation.
During its management, Venezuela participated in more than 200 multilateral work meetings, in which were discussed topics of collective interest such as: nuclear disarmament; coercive and unilateral measures; human rights; Sustainable development and the culture of peace.
