Venezuela will deliver a strengthened NAM presidency to Azerbaijan

“For three years we had to exercise the presidency of NAM, and I will render a victorious balance before 120 countries of what Venezuela has done to advance in international law; in the right of the peoples; in the need for a multipolar world; for the defense of peace; the fight against armamentism and the nuclear race; the struggle for coexistence and the dialogue of civilizations”.
This was stated on Wednesday by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, a few hours after embarking on his trip to Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, where he will deliver the pro-tempore presidency of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement (NAM).
“Venezuela assumed the presidency of the multilateral instance between 2016 and 2019 with dignity, decorum and brightness, and will deliver it renewed and strengthened”, he said.
President Maduro will deliver to his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, the leadership of the international organization after assuming it in September 2016 during the 17th Summit of the Movement held in Margarita Island, Nueva Esparta state.
