President Maduro: We are alive and victorious, today more than ever we will celebrate life and peace

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed this Sunday during the beginning of the act on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of the Bolivarian National Guard, (GNB) “we are alive and victorious, today more than ever we celebrate life, the peace and the anniversary of this military force”.
In the facilities of the Military Academy, in Caracas, the Head of State made such an affirmation when recalling the fateful August 4, 2018, when he was the victim of a magnicide in degree of frustration that tried to end the Bolivarian Revolution and the ideals of the Venezuelan people.
“As the Phoenix we are resurrected and stand firm and victorious”, confirmed Maduro.
“We come today, to this cradle, to take the inspiration of military youth to see the road from here on, marked by its words, by its thoughts, by its example”, said the national president.
Nicolás Maduro mentioned that the National Guard must keep in mind that “the one who dignified and profoundly transformed the component was the Eternal Commander, Hugo Chávez Frías, it was he who constitutionalized it”.
“Twenty years later, having been dignified, we should glimpse and ask us what the tasks are from now on. We must reflect what it means to be a revolutionary vanguard in the field of resistance, of American imperialism and what are its missions to attend to the people and their needs, to combat the crime that comes from Colombia”, said the Head of State.
Referring to the seizure of drugs by our country, he revealed that Venezuela is currently “breaking records in the seizure of drugs coming from Colombia where there is a failed state by Colombian violence-generating groups”.
He said that our country “is a victim of the failed Colombian State, we must continue reviewing the role of the National Guard, in order to clearly visualize the years to come, and now is when there are tasks to be accomplished”.
During the ceremony the president was accompanied by the Minister of People’s Power for Defense, G / J Vladimir Padrino López; the Operational Strategic Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), A / J Remigio Ceballos and other members of the Superior General Staff of the military institution.
On the commemorative day, the also Commander-in-Chief of the FANB imposed decorations on GNB professionals in recognition of his delivery in maintaining the country’s internal order.
Likewise, President Nicolás Maduro formalized the incorporation of the first contingent of the Bolivarian Militia into the GNB component. This action obeys the instruction he gave last February when he pointed out the importance of including militiamen as active soldiers of the military forces.
