COVID-19: Venezuela confirms 1,028 new positive cases and five deceases

Venezuela confirmed this Tuesday 1,028 new positive cases for the Covid-19 coronavirus, bring the total of those infected by the outbreak to 47,756, as reported the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

Through her account on the Twitter social network, the Executive Vice President detailed that 904 cases are of community transmission, and 124 cases are imported.

The most affected states are the Capital District (193), Nueva Esparta (127) and La Guaira (94).

Likewise, were announced five new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities to 391.

In the last 24 hours, 904 national cases and 124 international cases were added for a total of 1,028 new infections throughout the country, while of the total cases registered since the beginning of the epidemic, 39,027 have been recovered, that is, 82% of the patients who have successfully overcome the disease.

Rodríguez added that the death toll from the virus reached 391 this Tuesday. Also, the number of tests carried out is 1,775,594, which means 59,186 tests per million inhabitants.

She reported that Caracas has 12,808 positive cases, Miranda state has 7,686, and Táchira 2,379, these three being the states with the highest records.

Delcy Rodríguez also added that, of the 22 Caracas parishes, all registered infections: Sucre (Catia) 28, El Valle 19, La Vega 18, San Juan 14, San Agustín 12, San Pedro 11, Santa Rosalía 11, Macarao 11, La Pastora 11, Antímano 9, Coche 7, Caricuao 7, El Recreo 6, El Junquito 5, La Candelaria 5, 23 de Enero 4, El Paraíso 3, Altagracia 2, San José 2, San Bernardino 2, Catedral 1, and Santa Teresa 1.

Finally, she explained that of the 8,338 cases active at the moment, 191 patients are being cared for in private clinics, while 8,147 are cared for by the public health system, that is, 97.70%.
