Russia will face coup attempts by the US in Venezuela

“We are going to face the attempts for a coup d’état (in Venezuela), which have so far failed”, told Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Riabkov to reporters on Wednesday.
The attempted coup d’etat hitherto in there, said the diplomat, have been promoted by the United States, from which is also expected to follow the same line against the government of President Nicolás Maduro in the future.
Russia, he added, is on the other hand among the majority of countries in the world that rejects any foreign interference in Venezuela, either through a coup attempt or in the form of a military aggression, as Washington has proposed, with the support of the oppositionist coup leader Juan Guaidó, self-proclaimed as “interim president”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin maintained a telephone call with Donald Trump in early May, with a view to maintaining peace in Venezuela, in which his US counterpart acknowledged that his interlocutor did not intend to intervene in the South American country. contrary to what part of his Administration says.
In this context, Riabkov stressed that both leaders could talk at the summit of the Group of 20 (G20) to be held between June 28 and 29, 2019 in Osaka (Japan), to address several issues of the international sphere.
Washington has sometimes threatened the Kremlin with embargoes, on the pretext of its support for the legitimate Government of Maduro in the face of coup plotting by the opposition and alleged interference in Venezuelan affairs, which reveals the existence of contradictions within the White House regarding the Moscow-Caracas relationship.
In this regard, the ambassador of the Caribbean country in Russia, Carlos Rafael Faría Tortosa, reiterated on Tuesday the rejection of his country to any foreign intervention in Venezuela, and defended the right of the Eurasian country to associate with the Venezuelan Government in whatever area there may be.
