“This is Venezuela, the Venezuela of tolerance, of love, of respect, of integration,” with these words the Venezuelan head of State, Nicolás Maduro, described the faithful meaning of the Meeting of Venezuelans of Good, Venezuelans of Faith for Peace and the Essequibo, performed in the spaces of the Teresa Carreño Theater, in Caracas.
As a reflection, the national leader said that in a context in which in the end “we all pay tribute to the same being: The creator”, because “we come from him, we go to him”, no one should doubt that this is the case.
For this reason – he continued in his spiritually charged message – while we are here, all the strength of God must be present in every step of life that we take.
In that sense and making a retrospective of the struggles that Venezuela has given to get out of critical moments and how it has been oxygenating itself in the face of adverse scenarios, President Nicolás Maduro shared that his daily prayers include requests for the people of Venezuela so that It continues being blessed and can continue to resist, in prosperity, happiness, peace and security, without distinction and without exclusions:
“That is why I feel like a fish in water and I cry out to you, from my heart, my love for each one of you and the wonderful faith, always present,” he expressed, congratulating this “interreligious, ecumenical call, one of faith, of God and Peace”, within the framework of the National Conference for the Union of Venezuela, for the peace of Venezuela, the Venezuela of good, the Venezuela of faith.”
Honor and eternal glory to Father Matías Camuñas:
In this interreligious act, the Dignitary expressed solidarity with family, friends and relatives, after the physical departure of the Spanish priest Matías Camuñas.
He recalled that the religious, “amidst the harshest circumstances that Venezuela experienced, that February 27 and 28, 1989, if he was not the only voice, he was one of the few voices that there were from the religious world to accompany the victims, the mourners, to guide the people.”
“Unforgettable,” President Maduro noted wistfully.
“The Great Matías Camuñas. Let us raise a prayer for the soul of Matías Camuñas, father of Petare, father of the workers of Guayana, an example to take, to multiply. Honor and eternal glory to Father Matías Camuñas,” said President Maduro.
