The president of the Electoral Power, Tibisay Lucena, condemned the full disowning of the constitutional text and the actions of the right wing, which intends to manage a coup d’état.
“Citizen (Juan) Guaidó has chosen to disown the same electoral system for which reason he serves as deputy of the National Assembly”, said Lucena during her statement.
She noted that the actions of the right wing are part of a group of foreign governments led by the US empire. who seek to disown the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela.
She stressed that it is the votes of the Venezuelans who decide the rulers: “Are not the foreign governments that make this decision (…) the Electoral Power demands respect for the Venezuelans who manifested their right to vote”, she emphasized.
Lucena urged the Venezuelan people to participate in defense of sovereignty and the country.
