Padrino López: Venezuela ratifies its commitment to the legacy of peace and independence of Bolívar

“Today, December 17, Venezuela remembers the Liberator Simón Bolívar, sown in the hearts of the people and ratifies its commitment to the legacy of the Liberator of independence, freedom, peace and Latin American integration”, said the Minister for Defense Vladimir Padrino López.

“Today, soldiers, men and women of this people are called to nest in our hearts to the Father Liberator, to walk the path of peace with dignity”, said Padrino at the events honoring Simon Bolivar in the outskirts of the National Pantheon, Caracas, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 188th anniversary of the death of the Liberator.

Padrino López meant that the Bolivarian Revolution claimed the Liberator and brought it to the daily life of the people: “in those flags that we raise every day, we bring him back in this sacred fire, we bring him back to the streets, to the struggles, in the youth, in our men, our women, in the children”.

He stressed that dates like this are conducive not only to remember Bolívar in his bed, but his independence journey and in turn the people express their gratitude for having had a Liberator.

This was highlighted, when honoring the Liberator Simón Bolívar, to commemorate this Monday 188 years of his death, in an act held in the National Pantheon, in Caracas, where lie the remains of Simón Bolívar.
