President Maduro receives credentials from new ambassador of Colombia, Armando Benedetti

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, received this Monday at the Miraflores Palace, Caracas, the credentials of the new Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, Armado Benedetti.

At the protocol ceremony were also present the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Carlos Faría, and other members of the Executive Team, as well as Benedetti’s team.

The Colombian diplomat arrived in the country this Sunday and was welcomed at the Simón Bolívar Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, by the Vice Minister for Latin America, Render Peña.

Earlier, Chancellor Faría received the Style Copies of the new plenipotentiary representative of Colombia in the country.

Through a message on the Twitter social network, Faría pointed out that he welcomed the diplomat “with the hope founded on raising again the flags of solidarity, peace and understanding”.

Likewise, this August 28, arrived in Bogotá the ambassador appointed by Venezuela, Félix Plasencia, which marks the route for the reestablishment of bilateral relations, (previously) broken with the former Neo-Granadean president, Iván Duque, due to his constant support for the destabilization of Venezuela and assassination attempts against President Maduro.

The reestablishment of relations between the two countries was one of the campaign promises of Colombian President Gustavo Petro.

The authorities have already established contacts to seek to boost trade, especially on the border, and the Chancellories are advancing in a parliamentary work plan, according to the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez.
