“We are protected by the political and ethical morality of knowing that we are exercising the Presidency that corresponds to us … we will exercise until the last minute the Presidency that corresponds to us,” said on Monday the Chancellor of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reiterating to the triple alliance (Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay) that “we won’t leave nor will be ousted from Mercosur.”
At the Ana Julia Delgado Hall of the University of the Arts (UNEARTES) in Caracas, during the installation of the 21st Social Summit of Mercosur, Rodríguez recalled that since June, when the country assumed the leadership of the subregional bloc, ” was unleashed the fascist anger of some officials who tried to disown the presidency of Venezuela”.
“The triple alliance that dared to attack Venezuela, our revolution and our people, neither acknowledges its Government, nor its revolution or its people, and yet in September we were receiving, in Margarita, the Presidency of the most important political movement within the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Countries Movement. ”
She emphasized that in the midst of this onslaught has been undertaken an unprecedented campaign against the country, using irrational, absurd arguments that are nothing more than a reflection of political intolerance, and which have been dismantled in a forceful way.
“Whenever the peoples and the progressive, nationalist and left wing Governments have been a majority, we have respected the balance in the region, and yet these Governments that arrived in power by measly victories, some of them, others by a coup d’etat as in the case of Brazil, and the government of Paraguay, where a Chancellor identified with the Condor Plan intends to come and speak about human rights to the Bolivarian Revolution. ”
Rodríguez reiterated that while this group of right-wing Governments intend to sanction Venezuela, here is the Social Summit of Mercosur, ratifying the social character of this subregional bloc, a legacy of Commander Hugo Chavez.
