The Operational Strategic Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Remigio Ceballos, informed on Wednesday that the FANB will be activated with more than 400,000 civil servants for the protection, custody and safeguarding of citizens, electoral material, CNE infrastructure, in the elections of councilors that will be held this Sunday, December 9.
During the act of the deployment of the 2018 Republic Plan, the high military official stressed that the FANB is ready to protect the Venezuelan people during the electoral process.
The protection and custody of citizens and electoral material will be executed thanks to the joint work of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Ombudsman’s Office and the Ministry of the People’s Power for Interior. Justice and Peace.
In his speech, the strategic commander of the FANB, also stressed that all the commanders of the Integral Defense Zones of the country will participate in the official deployment this Wednesday throughout the country, while adding that they were more than 600 hours of training and qualification in security, compliance with human rights and international humanitarian law, to face any irregular circumstance in the elections.
