Maduro remembered the revolutionary woman from Trujillo, Bárbara de La Torre

This November 1st marks the 201st anniversary of the planting of Bárbara de La Torre Gutiérrez del Corral, known as Bárbarita or La Amazona Trujillense, as recalled in his Twitter account the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

Bárbarita was a Venezuelan soldier, defender of the emancipatory and republican cause during the Independence of Venezuela.

She participated in the Battle of Las Trincheras in Betijoque; in the field combat of Escuque; in the Battle of El Colorado in Escuque; in the Battle of Ponemesa in Betijoque; in the Battle of Los Higuerones; in the Battle of Los Cuarteles; in the Battle of Agua de Obispo; and in the Battle of Niquitao in Boconó; feats that took place between the months of June and July of 1813.
