President Maduro orders the execution of a sports massification plan heading to Paris 2024

The constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, instructed the immediate activation of a sports massification plan for the Paris 2024 Olympic route.

During the traditional day for the presentation of the Weekly Balance of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the national president instructed the president of the Permanent Commission for Integral Social Development, deputy Pedro Infante, and the Minister of People’s Power for sport Mervin Maldonado, articulate the actions necessary to meet this objective.

He anticipated that this sports massification plan must include the following axes:

– Sports massification through Barrio Adentro Deportivo plan.

– The implementation of special plans with all sports federations in the country.

To improve the talent hunting system, and go in search of the best athletes.

To create high-level sports conditions and facilities.

– To summon the best professionals in the world to participate in the training of Venezuelan athletes.

The head of state considered that “if Venezuela manages to strengthen the sports massification system, it will quickly achieve this goal.”

Heroes of Tokyo:

The national president outlined these actions after acknowledging the Venezuelan athletes present at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, mainly the four medalists who have allowed Venezuela to register its best participation in the entire history of the Olympic Games in Venezuela until this date.

Impressive performance of each and every athlete, those who have won medals, those who obtained Olympic diplomas and those who did not, those who managed to classify for Tokyo as a feat and those who could not qualify, I congratulate you for raising the name of Venezuela on high”, he emphasized.

He assured that this good performance demonstrated by the Venezuelan athletes, “Heroes of Tokyo”, has aroused the interest of all sectors, including private companies, which have expressed their desire to support the development of Venezuelan talent:

“I received messages from private companies that want to support athletes, they want to contribute with everything they can so that Venezuela continues to grow in sports”, he said.
