Venezuela requests 12 governments to release resources blocked in their banks to face pandemic

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reported on Wednesday that the South American nation have requested 12 governments to release the Venezuelan resources that are blocked, in order to face the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), which has 106 cases already registered in the country.

“Communications have been sent to 12 governments around the world where in 28 institutions have been blocked resources”, said the Executive Vice President from Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

In this sense, she indicated that Venezuela has the necessary resources to deal with the pandemic, to buy supplies, however, foreign banks have frozen more than 5,500 million dollars from Venezuela.

«Venezuela is not asking the world for alms. Venezuela has resources for medical equipment, material to attend to the Covid-19, and in matters of food”, she stressed.

On the other hand, she announced that a donation from China will arrive in Venezuela on Wednesday, through the cooperation mechanisms, with a significant donation.

In this situation, the Executive Vice President thanked the humanitarian aid provided by Russia, China and Cuba to address the pandemic, which already affects more than 400,000 people worldwide.
