Chancellor Arreaza criticized Duque for evading problems on the Colombian border

In his Twitter account, the Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, criticized the position taken by the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, against the “crimes against humanity” that are being committed in Colombian territory:

“Duque intends to wash his hands and blame Venezuela for the more than 60 years of proven abandonment on the Colombian side of the border”, which, as he continued pointing out, “gave way to the development of drug trafficking, paramilitarism, criminal gangs and Colombian irregular groups” .

In a tweet, Arreaza did not hesitate to recognize the existence of “common problems” on the border shared by both countries, but clarified that the responsibilities are different.

The Venezuelan Chancellor also referred to the alarming increase in drug crops in Colombia, as is referred in the World Report on Drugs published by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), on July 18, 2018:

“How does President Ivan Duque explain that in 60 years Venezuela is a territory free of drug cultivation, while in Colombia they increase every year?” wrote the Venezuelan official.
